Have a conversation

I used to not enjoy buying a property. The were parts of the process that I just used to dread.

Calling agents – because it felt like they knew more than me and I felt like I was constantly being judged.

Visiting new areas – It was unfamiliar.

Visiting properties with agents – I didn’t know what to say or even what questions to ask.

Making an offer – Let’s not even get started on this! I hated this and used say it like I was asking their permission or ask as if it was a rhetorical question!

And then hearing the no’s- “sorry your offer was not accepted”.

As much as I hated it, I had to keep going because I knew why I wanted to buy and always kept this in mind.

The more I did it, the easier it became.

I came to the realisation buying a property is about dealing with people.

The agent / vendor is the person selling the property so I decided to have a chat with them find out more about them, the property and the area so it can become more familiar.

I decided to have a chat about my offer and explain the reasons why I am making that offer.

The no’s are fine, we can have a chat about it there will eventually be a yes.

So if any of these aspects make you anxious just remember why you want to buy and go and have chat.

Building those relationships and doing things often will get you closer to buying your home.

As the saying goes it’s good to talk.
